I got great value for my money at this hotel. The room was comfortable and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The location was perfect, away from the touristy areas but still within a short drive to all the attractions. The staff were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable.
Menu for breakfast: It would have been better if there was a little more time between each course, to fully enjoy and appreciate the food.

Traditional hotel and beautiful and amazing location in the mountains. Excellent breakfast with plenty of food, caring staff. Location just off a nearby restaurant located on a terrace hanging over the river and beautiful forest and river and main Kyoto. Again, walking distance to Jingo-ji. Perfect experience there.

This place is located in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful wooded areas and rivers. We loved hiking and exploring the different walking trails that led to various temples and shrines in the area. The staff at this hotel provided excellent service and were always welcoming and ready to assist. We were delighted to find an optional outdoor Onsen that offered a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The highlight of our stay was the dinner, which was served on a platform right by the river. It was a unique and charming setting, with a great view of a blooming tree and wooded mountains from our hotel room window. The sound of the running river added to the tranquil atmosphere.
We highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It offers enhanced comfort, quality services, and luxurious amenities.

I had the most amazing stay at a traditional Japanese-style hotel in Kyoto. Everything exceeded my expectations. The location was peaceful, away from the crowds, and I even got to see local tourists wearing yukata during dinner, which was a unique experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with different dinner options to choose from and a constantly changing menu for breakfast. The staff were friendly, polite, and treated me like a friend. Upon arrival, they guided me to my room and served me tea, a special touch that made me feel welcomed. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and I particularly enjoyed the open-air public bath. I cannot praise this hotel enough and I am already planning to return during autumn when the leaves turn red.
The only downside was that the hot water in the private bathtub was too hot, making it difficult for me to enjoy. It would have been helpful if there was a warning for guests, especially for foreigners, to prevent any discomfort.

The Japanese-style room and decor were beautiful, creating an authentic ryokan experience. I loved wearing the complimentary yukata and indulging in the warm, relaxing baths. The food was also exceptional in terms of presentation, quality, and quantity. Opening the window and hearing the rush of the river below added to the peaceful atmosphere. The private bath experience was definitely worth the extra cost, with stunning views of the mountains. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my requests, even changing our private bath reservation to an earlier time and comping the fee. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a memorable ryokan experience.
